8 TIPS ON PUBLIC SPEAKING
Speaking infront of a crowd is not easy especially when you are shy person. They are many people who have phobia for public speaking that's why most people end up making use of the wrong words.
There are alot of things you shouldn't do or say during public speaking.
Here are eight(8) public speaking tips you should know;
1) Don't use the word 'uhm' 'emm'
When you are asked a question during presentation or interview, Avoid making use of such word to answer a question. Identify your annoying words then start removing it from your daily interaction.
2) Smile and make eye contact
Smiling is very important in public speaking because your expression to whosoever you are talking to really matters. It also give a good impression about you. Also try to have eye contact with 2nd party because it helps you observe and know what to say at that point in time. Most especially just be yourself.
3) Don't touch your hair or face
Most people have literally keep making this mistake of touching their face or adjusting their hair in the presence of an ongoing meeting or interview. It is wrong...
Look great, be confident and make sure you dont loose focus on what you are doing.
4) Ignore Distraction
When talking to someone in public, you need to ignore all side distraction that come up. For example, the noise, the activities happening around, or looking at someone passing or dancing and forgetting who were in a conversation with a person.
5) Use your hands when you speak
Always use your hand to communicate with people because it is a way of expression. Dont just put it by your side or at your back, use your hands to emphasize but don't overdo it.
6) Practice
If you want to be creative, always practice and know how to start your speech.
7) Finish Early
Don't talk too much. Always set a time limit for every thing you want to say especially during presentations. Know when to use the last word or statement that will drop something into the mind of your audience.
8) Close Strong
Try to close with Q&A. Leave 30-60 seconds for your closing message because that is what they will remember most.
